$64 Million Hit at Christie’s American Art Sale

$64 million was raised at Christie’s spring sale of American Art on May 22, 2014. Some big winners are Norman Rockwell’s The Rookie (Red Sox Locker Room), 1st time at the auction, Thomas Moran’s masterpiece The Grand Canyon of the Colorado, offered at the auction again after two decades, and John Marin’s Side Slope of Taos Range, New Mexico. The pre-sale estimate was $65.7 million.
