Another Van Gogh’s work Recovered in Amsterdam

A significant “Sunset at Montmajour” painting by Vincent van Gogh, which was done in 1888, was authenticated by the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. Through careful analysis, researchers confirmed that the pigments used in this painting match others used by Van Gogh. In addition, a letter written by Van Gogh and an inventory of his brother’s collection supports its authenticity. The work is from the most important period of Van Gogh’s life, when he created his many masterpieces, like “The Sunflowers”, “The Yellow House”, and “The Bedroom”.
