British Museum needs donation to buy back Jane Austen’s Ring

Jane Austen’s Ring, one of only three pieces jewelry left by a great novelist was auctioned last year in Britain. When Jane Austen’s House Museum planed to bid the ring in the auction, The American Idol Winner Kelly Clarkson paid £ 152,450 (about $230,000) and placed a winning bid.

British cultural minister declared the importance of Austen ring, which is a national treasure. It is prerequisite for Jane Austen’s House Museum raising fund to bring the ring home. Up to date, the museum has received £100,000 (close to $150,000 U.S.) from an anonymous donor. There are still few months till December that the museum have to raise the remaining funds. People are looking forward to see Jane Austen’s Ring coming back to British territory.
