Da Vinci’s Painting of Christ Sold for $75 Million

“Salvator Mundi”, an image of Christ holding a crystal orb, painted by Lenardo da Vinci was sold privately for $75 million. Once belonged to England’s King Charles I, this painting was owned by a consortium of dealers. It was misattributed as a copy after Boltraffio, who worked in da Vinci’s studio. But a new analysis identified the painting was done by the master himself. The private sale was handled by Sotheby’s and the buyer remains anonymous.
