Edward Hopper’s Blackwell’s Island Acquired by Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art – Antique News

Blackwell’s Island, a major work by American Modernist painter Edward Hopper (1882-1967) was acquired by Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville. Painted in 1928, Blackwell’s Island is one of Hopper’s largest and most ambitious oils. This massive oil painting, 34.5 x 59.5 inches in measurement, was sold for $19.1M at Christie’s in May this year.
