“Love among the Ruins” Set New World Record in London

“Love among the Ruins” by Sir Edward Coley Burne-Jones (1833-1898) was sold for $22.4M at Christie’s in London, exceeded the estimate by almost $15M. Considered one of Burne-Jones’ masterpieces, it last changed hands in 1958. Since then, it hasn’t been seen in public. With this sale, it set a new world record for the Burne-Jones work at auction.
