Picasso’s “Femme assiese au chapeau” Sold for $7 million

Picasso’s oil on canvas, titled “Femme assise au chapeau”, was sold to a Greek collector for $7 million dollars on October 18, 2013 at Frieze Week, the world’s biggest amalgamation of commercial fairs, auctions and gallery shows focused on contemporary art. As one of his woman-with-hat works, “Femme assise au chapeau” was painted in 1961, depicting his companion Jacqueline Roque since 1954. It was sold for $4.3 million at Christie’s in 2011. –Antique News
