Samuel Beckett Manuscript sells for $1.4M

The manuscript of Irish writer Samuel Beckett’s first novel was sold at Sotheby for $1.4 million. Best known for his absurdist play, Waiting for Godot, Samuel Beckett won the Nobel Prize in 1969 and died in 1989. Bekett is widely regarded as among the most influential writers of the 20th century.
