“The King of Coins” Sold for $3.8 Million

Known as the “King of Coins”, the Mickley-Hawn-Queller Class I Original Dollar dated 1804 was sold more than $3.8 million at Heritage Auctions of Dallas. The coin was actually made in 1834 or 1835, and was intended to be given as a diplomatic gift during trade missions to Asia and Middle East.
